Tables and validation — Excel Course

Excel Tables, sorting, filtering and data validation. Learn it step by step with guided practice on Excelquro.

Understand

A well-designed Table has one header row, one record per row and consistent field types. Structured references such as Table1[Collection] remain readable as the table expands. Data Validation controls what users may enter into fields such as Status, Branch or Product.

Worked example

A structured reference sums the Collection column. Adding another row to the Table extends the reference automatically.

=SUM(Table1[Collection])
