Present a reconciled SQL capstone — Smart Study Module 12

Deliver a query, results and explanation that another analyst can reproduce.

Outcomes

Understand

Group payments by branch and month after joining a unique loan dimension. Group targets by the same branch-month keys and join the two aggregates. This prevents target duplication.

January Pune is ₹27,000/₹30,000 and Nashik ₹21,000/₹30,000. February is Pune ₹30,000 and Nashik ₹20,000. Total February achievement is 83.3333%.

The project deliverable includes setup.sql, your query, output CSV, control queries and a brief limitations note. The in-site answer check evaluates a known result, not arbitrary SQL semantics or execution security.

Follow along

  1. Use the SQL Business Performance project workspace.
  2. Build branch-month result and compare all four rows.
  3. Test an unpaid loan and a duplicate key in a disposable database.
  4. Write a README with dialect, run steps, controls and one recommendation.

Worked example

SELECT l.branch_id,substr(p.payment_date,1,7) AS month,SUM(p.amount) AS collection
FROM payments p JOIN loans l ON l.loan_id=p.loan_id
GROUP BY l.branch_id,substr(p.payment_date,1,7) ORDER BY month,l.branch_id;

B01/Jan27000; B02/Jan21000; B01/Feb30000; B02/Feb20000.
