Run a focused job-search workflow — Smart Study Module 23
A small, current application list is more useful than hundreds of untracked submissions.
Outcomes
- Track role fit and next actions
- Keep personal data minimal
- Follow up respectfully and manually
Understand
For each role save company, role, source URL, application date, stage, next action and follow-up date. Keep optional location/salary notes factual. Do not store identity documents, passwords or confidential hiring correspondence here.
Compare actual job requirements with project evidence and identify the largest relevant gap. Personalize the application with true examples. The tracker does not scrape jobs, apply automatically or send messages.
Follow-up reminders appear in the app while you review the list; there are no guaranteed background notifications. Export backups before clearing browser data or changing devices.
Follow along
- Add one real or clearly fictional test application.
- Set a next action and date.
- Edit its stage and verify the next action remains understandable.
- Export a plan backup and check that no unnecessary personal data was entered.
Worked example
Saved → Applied → Interview → Offer / Closed Each active row: next action + review date
A useful active application has one clear next action; notifications are in-app only.
